this moment: bridging to brownies

bridging to brownies

Twist me, turn me, and show me the elf. I looked in the water and saw MYSELF!

bridging to brownies

This week my Daisy scout bridged to Brownies. We are lucky to have such a beautiful park with this fantastic bridge to make the ceremony extra fun.

The girls filled our little corner of the park with laughter and squeals of excitement. They’re all pretty awesome.

This Moment is a Friday ritual inspired by Amanda Soule.

I can’t believe my little girl will be bridging to Brownies this week. Next thing I know, she’ll be a second grader! (Actually, in one month!)

In my quest to do one creative thing a day, I asked her to pick something out of my Crochet Embellishments book for me to make for her. She picked a daisy hair tie, of course.

I made it last night and left it on the kitchen table for her. She ran into my room this morning so excited! I need more little creative projects like this. They’re worth so much more than the small amount of time they take.

I spent some time at the library the other day flipping through the craft books on display and guess what I found: embroidered daisies! These wouldn’t hide a t-shirt hole very well, but they’re really cute. I like that they’re not your average stitched daisy.

resource: The book is The Gentle Art of Stitching: 40 Projects Inspired by Everyday Beauty (amazon link). It has some interesting projects — too bad there isn’t a “look inside” option on amazon.

may flowers

I’m still going through my flower pictures from last summer. One of my favorite flowers is the daisy. I like how the petals curl under on this particular one. They seem so graceful and relaxed.

My laptop desktop is littered with screen shots and icons. This pretty flower gave me the incentive to finally clean things up.
