6.24.05 — Back to the east coast
Our little red car is headed off to Florida. Take care, Lil' Red!

I haven't posted anything about our weekend in Indianapolis because it still doesn't seem real. I'm still not sure who to blame, but I will say that watching the drivers get out of their cars, turn around and walk off the track felt like they were turning their backs on us. It's hard to explain, but that feeling doesn't go away easily. Maybe I'll have more to say after a little bit more time processing the anger, frustration and disappointment. You can read more for yourself here, here and here. And don't miss this for sure!

6.12.05 — Overheard...
Two muffins are baking in an oven. One muffin looks over at the other and says, "Boy, it's hot in here." The other muffin exclaims, "Oh my gosh! A talking muffin!"

6.10.05 — O!
In case anyone is wondering, I am and will always be an Orioles fan. Even in Husker Country.

6.09.05 — A letter from elsie.com
Dear Lincoln Blog:

We are sorry to hear you had a problem with Borden's String Cheese. Unfortunately mold in cheese is a common problem throughout all cheese brands. Mold is everywhere in our environment and the moisture and nutrient content of cheese is especially receptive to mold growth. Packaging is not always 100% perfect and air tight, and can be slightly punctured or broken during the course of distribution. Also, improper retail management or consumer handling could allow mold growth.

The freshness date on your packages are October 3, 2005. If you feel more comfortable by discarding both packages, please do so. However, your other package is probably fine, however, you may want to examine the product to make that determination. We will be more than happy to send you replacement coupons through the US mail for both packages of cheese.

Once again we are sorry you encountered this problem with our cheese. We look forward to serving you as a satisfied customer.

6.06.05 — Another Lincoln blog
I saw this link posted on a community bulletin board in a coffee house.

6.03.05 — Nutty over french knots
I've been working on a knitting project that requires a lot of french knots. I had already done about half of them, and then all of the sudden, I couldn't figure out how to do them. Just like that. I lost the ability to tie a stupid french knot. I read the instructions over and over and almost drove myself insane until I found this. What on earth did we do before Google and the Internet?

6.02.05 — Moving to Lincoln?
Some interesting Lincolnisms, although I bet my coworker who moved here from LA would disagree with the comment about traffic on O Street.

We've never heard of the October Snowstorm. Imagine all of that snow on trees that still have green leaves!

6.02.05 — Non-"severe" severe weather
On Tuesday we had a crazy storm. The heavens opened up and dumped a ton of rain and hail on us. The water in the street was curb level. We had ice in our yard. Our next door neighbor's house was struck by lightening. As crazy as this sounds, here's what really gets us—this was not "severe" weather. No warnings went off on the weather radio. Nothing was on the news. I guess when you live out in the prairie, you should just be thankful that there there isn't a threat of a tornado. By the way, we will be going out this weekend to by all new surge protectors, just in case we get anymore non-"severe" severe weather anytime soon.

Last month's Blog.
