new year, new scarf

I started my new year with a little crochet project. It’s a scarf for a friend’s daughter. The yarn was unraveled from one of her baby sweaters. I tried a few different stitches, but the yarn is so busy, I decided to go with straight double crochet. I’ll be adding a few flowers, too.

How did you start the new year?

  1. Very cute yarn, I bet the mom will be quite sentimental when she sees it used differently. :)
I still have Ani’s sweater dress to finish. I’ve got a few more inches, but it’s just staring me down. I’ll be so glad to finish it!

  2. I love how you recycle yarn from old sweaters. I should try that. I started the new year doing handwork on a quilt top and finished one fingerless mitten. Anxious to start the second one!

  3. Oh, I miss seeing all of your lovely crochet projects. This one is another winner in my book. So pretty!
