giveaway: interweave knits magazines

interweave knits

I found one more thing of interest at the textile sale: a bag of Interweave Knits magazines for only 25 cents each. They are various issues from 2001-2003. Some had a few patterns that had been cut out, but for a quarter each, I figured they’d be great just for inspiration.

Well, I found quite a few things that I liked, actually. As I was cutting them out, I marveled at just how many patterns were left. Did the magazine publish more per issue back then? I could not bring myself to put these in the recycle bin. Now, granted, some of the pullovers are a bit oversized, but a lot are classic enough to be made and worn today. Here are some of the pattern highlights:

*Grand plan patterns include every possible measurement imaginable for a completely custom fit.

  1. Well I’m currently working on more than I want to admit to. 1) 3 sock pattern designs … which have to be done soon soon soon. 2) baby hats … for charity 3) a Montana king quilt for my father 4) stuff for my shope 5) New England Knit vest and of course 6) giant granny square blanket.

Goodness. Do I need more inspiration?

  2. Well, there are several projects on needles atm: socks, wristlets, and a dishcloth. =) *whew* perhaps I can finish on of these this weekend!

  3. I have a few things on the needles 2 shawls, 2 pairs of socks, and a pair of colorwork owl wristwarmers.

  4. Working on another pair of plain vanilla socks, just finished the FLS cardigan (which I love, love, love!), finished a pair of Jaywalkers, still working away on the beaded edge of my Evenstar shawl…

Once the plain socks are done I’ll probably cast on for a pair of Skews.

And I also already “like” you on FB!

  5. Ach, I would love to have copies of those magazines.

My projects currently include two shawls, two pairs of socks and two sweaters. I was working on my newest sweater at Wednesday night knitting, at which, by the way, we missed you. You could have heard part 1 of the saga of Ben’s missing glasses.

  6. Currently I am working on an afghan for my grandson – he wanted one to match the colors of his room. He sleeps with one I had crocheted for his father (my son) many years ago and decided he wanted his own. What fun this is as I know he will put it to good use!!

  7. I am currently working on another pair of yoga socks, the Cable Luxe Sweater that is taking me way too long to finish, a shawl, a dishcloth, a first birthday present for my now 5 year old…maybe I’ll have it done for his children :P’ And I still have all those quilts I’m sewing… I really don’t need any more projects but I love being inspired!

And I do like you but I don’t have facebook :)

  8. I’m working on a sweater of my own design. I’d love to have the mags for the men’s pattern. Thanks for the giveaway.
