You know how some kids have imaginary friends? We think Bella has an imaginary dog. She’ll walk around the house slapping her thigh shouting Dawg! when clearly there are no stuffed dogs, wooden dogs, dog pictures, dogs barking outside, blocks with dogs — you get the idea.

Last weekend T had a little talk with her about these dog outbursts. He told her that Mom wasn’t ready for a dog and probably wouldn’t be for a long time. If she wanted a pet, she should start asking for something small, like a fish. It was a cute conversation.

Later that night I got this FreeCycle email: Offer – goldfish with two bowls, food, a net and supplies. Kind of weird, don’t you think? Things get taken so fast on FreeCycle that when I responded I didn’t expect that I would actually get it. Well, I did. I took it as a sign. Meet the littlest Kundhi:

He doesn’t have a name yet. I was thinking Enzo because he’s a really fast swimmer.

Enzo sounds a lot like Elmo, though, and I didn’t want Bella to get confused between fish and furry red muppets. T was thinking Victor Vito or Freddie Vasco, but aren’t they bears?

What do you think, blog readers? Help us name our fish!

Except for Pinocchio’s goldfish whose name is Cleo, I thought all goldfish were named Goldie. Mom and I had a Goldie and Bella’s fish is a beautiful gold. I rest my case.
Uncle Roger says we went with Dawg for so long why don’t we call him Fish.

    Gilmore, Goldie, Glisten

I showed the picture to Caleb and said, “What’s this?” He said, “A fish.” I said, “What’s his name?” and he said, “F. F is for Fish”. There you have it!

Hey Victor! Hey Freddie! Let’s eat some spaghetti!

I love the name Bob for a fish, or Harry.

I must admit that this is the prettiest goldfish I have ever seen. The fish that we had as kids were kind of straight and boring looking. This fish is so fancy. I think I’d call her “curly.”

We have a beautiful blue and black betta fish named Princess Swimmy. We haven’t quite had the heart to announce to the girl child that Princess Swimmy is really a boy (Russell privately calls him Joseph). If you want fast, you could always call him Mika…

  7. We thought this little knudhi shall be called “SOONDER MUCHHEE” means Beautiful Fish.
